Oman: A 42-year-old man has tested positive for pregnancy, which surprised doctors. Later it was found that the cause of this unique condition was a disease.
This is the first case of its kind reported in Jordan in which a person has tested positive for pregnancy. Later, further tests revealed that it was a tumor in which the pancreatic tumor had spread to the growing liver and that the hormone it secreted was what caused the pregnancy test.
Histopathology specialist in Jordan, Dr. Hussam Abu Farsakh, confirmed the 42-year-old man’s positive pregnancy test in his statement. According to him, at first he was very surprised, but later further tests confirmed that it was due to a tumor.
A CT scan revealed that the tumor was secreting a hormone that is normally secreted by pregnant women. According to doctors, this is a rare condition for which the patient is being treated.
