Islamabad: Due to the economic crisis, the development activities in the country have stalled, 44% of the development funds could not be spent in the first nine months of the current financial year.
According to the Planning Commission, in the first nine months of the current financial year, only 316 billion rupees of development funds were spent.
In nine months, the highest funds of Rs 77 billion were spent on power projects, development funds of Rs 49 billion were spent on dams and other water resources projects. 49 billion rupees were also spent for SDGs etc. while funds of 33 billion rupees were spent for roads and highways.
Railways got 17 billion rupees, provinces and Azad Kashmir got 33 billion rupees, Higher Education Commission got 10 billion rupees, housing and works got 8 billion rupees and information technology got 4 billion rupees.
