Lahore: In the case of extension of bail in 2 cases of Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf, the court approved the request of attendance through video link for one day and extended interim bail.
In Anti-Terrorism Court, Lahore, a hearing was held on Imran Khan’s application for interim bail in 2 cases, in which the court allowed Imran Khan to appear on video link. The court accepted the plea for one day and made the appearance through video link. Later, after further hearing, the court extended the bail in 2 cases and stopped Imran Khan from arrest till May 4.
The court also extended the interim bail of Farrukh Habib, Fawad Chaudhry, Hamad Azhar, Mian Mehmoodur Rashid and Ijaz Chaudhry.
Earlier, the judge of the court, Ijaz Ahmed Buttar, started the hearing on interim bail, in which Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, gave arguments. . The court inquired that if I had to cancel your client’s bail after hearing the arguments, then what would happen? . Or if I had to arrest them, how would I arrest them?
The lawyer said that we are giving an undertaking that Imran Khan will surrender and join the investigation. Imran Khan is presented with a shield and there is a security risk.
The judge remarked that what special work has he done that he has received security threats. Nawaz Sharif, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the rest of the former prime ministers are also on the move. On which the lawyer said that if the court orders and is strict, then we will produce Imran Khan.
During the hearing, the lawyers presented the copy of the threat in the court and said that Imran Khan is not leaving the country, he will present the cases and is doing so. The police are still investigating the murder of Ms. Benazir Bhutto.
Later, the court granted Imran Khan’s request for attendance through video link for one day and extended his interim bail.
