Islamabad: The Election Commission declared Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as the President of Muslim League-Q and declared the action of the Central Working Committee as illegal.
On the issue of removal from the presidency of the Muslim League-Q, the Election Commission has given a safe decision on the request of Chaudhry Shujaat, in which it has been declared that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain will remain the president of the Muslim League-Q.

The Election Commission stated that the removal of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was against the party constitution and said that the action of the Central Working Committee was also illegal. But the Election Commission had reserved the decision in August last year and reinstated Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on a restraining order.
It should be remembered that recently on January 26, the general council meeting of Muslim League-Q was held, in which Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was removed from the party presidency and Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain was appointed as the unopposed president of the Muslim League-Q and Tariq Bashir Cheema was replaced by Kamil. Ali Agha was elected as the Central General Secretary. In the meeting, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was also elected as the unopposed President of Punjab.

Earlier on January 16, Party President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had suspended Parvez Elahi’s party membership for his statement regarding the merger of Q-League into Tehreek-e-Insaf.
