China has confirmed the country’s first human death from H3N8 bird flu.

According to the World Health Organization, this is the first time a human has died from avian influenza, but it is only the third case of H3N8 virus infection in humans.

The World Health Organization has said that the deceased 56-year-old woman belonged to China’s Guangdong Province, who had contracted the disease on February 22, 2023.

According to the report, the woman was admitted to the hospital on March 3, 2023 due to pneumonia and then died on March 16, 2023.

The report further stated that there were several reasons why the woman might have contracted bird flu, she was close to live chickens before contracting the disease and there were wild birds around her house.

According to the report, no one who came in contact with the woman after her case was reported has developed symptoms of the infection or illness.

H3N8 is a strain of bird flu that is extremely rare in humans and does not spread from person to person.

The infection was first detected in wild birds in the 1960s, the H3N8 virus has been found in animals other than birds.

After the spread of the H3N8 virus in aquatic animals in North America, the disease resurfaced in 2002, infecting dogs, horses, and other animals.

Bird flu is usually contracted in humans by exposure to live or dead chickens and contaminated environments.
