Ankara: Turkey has launched its first aircraft carrier equipped with advanced drone capabilities.
According to international media, Turkey has launched its first aircraft carrier with the aim of expanding its drone capabilities from land-based to naval operations in the context of growing regional tensions due to the Ukraine war.
According to details, the TCG Anadolu ship can only handle light aircraft, especially helicopters and jets that can take off from short runways. It is 232 meters long, 32 meters wide and can carry around 1,400 personnel and combat vehicles at a time.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the launching ceremony in Istanbul that this ship will help us to conduct military and humanitarian operations in every corner of the world if needed. We see this ship as a symbol that will strengthen Turkey’s regional leadership position.
