Massachusetts: Experts say that vaccines for cancer and heart disease are likely to be ready by the end of this decade.
Scientists at the pharmaceutical company Moderna believe that in the next five years, the company could potentially introduce new treatments that could save millions of lives.
According to Moderna’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Paul Burton (who developed one of the various Covid vaccines), the company is working on creating injections that will treat various types of cancer.
He said that the company will provide special cancer vaccines to people suffering from different types of cancer around the world. mRNA therapy will potentially offer cures for rare diseases that were previously untreatable.
He further said that various respiratory infections in the stable can be treated with one injection. In the next 10 years we will be in a world where the genetic cause of disease can be identified and cured using mRNA-based technology.
It’s not like miRNA is only used for epidemiology, Hoon said. It can be applied in all types of diseases whether it is cancer, infectious disease, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune or any rare disease.
