Faizan, a shopkeeper of unstitched clothes based in Rabi Center, said that since 30 years I have been working here, the demand for unstitched cloth is decreasing every year. One yard of cloth has become 1300. The price has reached 1470 rupees per yard, so it is running less in Karachi, while there is more demand in Pindi, cotton silk has become 400 rupees last year and 650 per yard this year. They have not even kept their profit in Eid but are selling at the same price.
Designer brands made it easy for women
On festivals, fashion designer brands have made it easy for women to a great extent, not only clothes of every range are available in the market but there is also variety. If not, they are making similar designs.
Rabia, a resident of Clifton, said that she is making traditional dresses reflecting the culture and instead of work, she is designing the dresses with laces, piping, machine embroidery and ribbons which will look beautiful and light.
Rabia said that apart from this, the purchase of other members of the house, especially the children, also depends on our shoulders. Razia Khatun, a resident of Gulshan Iqbal while shopping in Tariq Road, said that due to inflation, this time I will buy cheap cloth for the Eid dresses and get them well stitched for both my daughters and make them a couple and I will buy 2 pieces of simple lawn shalwar kameez for myself. In order to be able to work even on normal days, 2-piece clothes of 2 thousand rupees are available for 2500 rupees.
Razia said that girls are resisting stitched clothes, which are beautiful to look at, it is becoming very difficult to convince them to wear unstitched clothes.
Girls want to adopt flamboyant and innovative styles, Mah Noor
According to the Express survey, there is a difference in the quality of fashion and other preferences of women and young girls, including clothes. Women want to look attractive on Eid and do Eid shopping according to the trend, while young girls are more flamboyant and sophisticated.
