Canada will deploy its military aircraft to Japan to enforce UN Security Council sanctions against North Korea.
Yesterday, Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand announced the deployment of Air Force CP-140 Aurora aircraft to Japan.
The aircraft will monitor for six weeks violations of maritime sanctions, particularly ship-to-ship transfers of fuel and other items prohibited by the Security Council.
It should be noted that due to North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear program, the United Nations has imposed sanctions since 2006.
In the last week of March, North Korea tested a nuclear-powered drone capable of an underground strike.
