Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahabib has expressed regret over the Afghan government’s decision to prevent Afghan women from working for the United Nations and demanded its withdrawal.
In his message released on his official Twitter account, he said that ‘Belgium has strongly condemned the ban on Afghan women working for the United Nations in Afghanistan.’
He said that it violates international law, women’s rights and humanitarian principles. Once again, we call for the end of all discriminatory restrictions imposed on women and girls by the Afghan (de facto) authorities.
