Japan has announced a financial assistance plan to strengthen the defense of friendly countries.

Japan’s Overseas Security Assistance (OSA) program will provide funds for defense purposes in friendly countries.

On the other hand, the decades-long Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) program will continue to provide money for roads, dams and other urban infrastructure projects.

According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, we want to deepen our cooperation with countries by increasing security and defense capabilities in order to create a suitable security environment for Japan.

The statement said that Japanese aid money will not buy lethal weapons.

This program includes special projects such as satellite communication, radio systems for monitoring oceans.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that money will be allocated to friendly countries for defense purposes this financial year.

Government sources told foreign news agencies that the Philippines and Bangladesh could be the first countries to receive money from Japan.

Japan is considering providing radars to the Philippines to monitor Chinese movements in the South China Sea.

On the other hand, Japan also wants to provide financial support to Fiji and Malaysia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that in principle only developing countries will be eligible for aid which will be given in the form of grants.

It should be noted that Japan also wants to invest in developing countries to compete with China.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had announced an investment of 75 billion dollars in March.
