Peshawar: Head of Traffic Police Department, Qamar Hayat, took notice of the viral video of torture on the rickshaw driver on social media and suspended the involved official.
According to Express News, Chief Traffic Officer Qamar Hayat Khan, taking notice of the violence on the rickshaw driver, suspended the officer while SP headquarters was appointed as an inquiry officer.
According to reports, the rickshaw driver violated the one-way on Nasir Bagh Road, on which the traffic in-charge demanded the registration of the rickshaw and other documents from the rickshaw driver, which the rickshaw driver did not have.
Later, the traffic in-charge directed the official to sit with the said rickshaw driver and lock it in the rickshaw terminal, whereupon the said driver left the right direction of the road towards Hayatabad and ran the rickshaw on the bridge and resisted the traffic officer after climbing the bridge. On which the traffic officer defended himself and shot the Afghan citizen with a rifle.
It should be noted that the Chief Traffic Officer, taking notice of the incident, suspended the said official, while appointed SP Paid Quarters as the Inquiry Officer.
