Central Asian countries Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan announced new demarcation to end border clashes.
After the breakup of the Soviet Union, the 870-mile area between the two countries was the cause of dispute.
Local people living on both sides of this disputed border region used to have deadly battles over water and agricultural land.
The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov said that the two countries have completed the process of delimiting their borders, which has ended the border dispute.
He said that the parliaments of the two countries approved the agreement last year after three decades of negotiations.
The agreement was signed by Uzbek President Shaukat Mirziyoyev in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
On the other hand, the Uzbek president said that this is a historic opportunity for which the brotherly countries have been waiting for many years.
