Zalmay Khalilzad, the former special representative of the United States for Afghanistan, has said that the Taliban’s ban on Afghan women workers of the United Nations is wrong.
In a statement, Zalmay Khalilzad said that the ban on UN Afghan women workers would increase the hardships of Afghans, and the ban could potentially reduce international assistance.
He said that the ban decision will complicate the Taliban’s international affairs, Afghan women have indisputable rights to education and work.
Zalmay Khalilzad says that the Taliban pledged to respect women’s rights in Doha, the Taliban must follow through on their promises to the Afghan people.
