Karachi: A team of experts from the World Organization for Animal Protection reached Karachi to treat the sick elephant in the zoo.

The experts examined the sick elephant, official treatment should be started from Wednesday, according to the experts, the disease of the elephant Noor Jahan has taken a serious form, there is a 50% chance of the elephant surviving.

During the visit, it was revealed that the elephant was seriously ill and unable to walk, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori assured that a team of veterinarians would come from Austria, while the Minister of Local Government asked for the funding issue to be resolved. On this occasion, Dr. Marina Ivanova said that Queen Noor Jahan will also have X-ray and ultrasound. Noor Jahan has difficulty walking, so we are trying to arrange a fire engine to stand the animal, the zoo management does not have enough medicine, or equipment, but we are trying to get him well. Administrator Karachi Saifur Rahman said that during the medical examination and treatment, the team has been provided with all medicines, X-rays and all other facilities. The team of Punjab University of Animal Sciences visited Karachi Zoo on March 29 and collected the blood and waste samples of the elephant Noor Jahan and sent them for further analysis. The Forpa International team treated the elephants in August as well. We are trying to ensure that if the condition of the elephant improves, we will transfer both the elephants to the safari park as per the suggestions of the experts to provide them with a better environment.

On the other hand, the news of the disease of the elephant proved to be a disappointing news for the children who came to the zoo. While talking to Express at the zoo, third grade student Usman Rind said that today was a school holiday and he had come to see the elephant and took food from home. The children expressed their grief to see the elephant suffering from the disease and expressed hope that the elephant is 50% better, hoping that with the treatment of the team of doctors, the elephant will be able to walk again.
