21% record decline in sales of petroleum products

Islamabad: In the first 9 months of the current financial year, the sale of petroleum products in the country recorded a decrease of 21 percent on annual basis.

According to the data of Arif Habib Research and Industry, in the first 9 months of the current fiscal year, the sale of 12.80 million tons of petroleum products was recorded in the country, which is 21% less than the same period of the previous fiscal year.

In the same period of the previous financial year, the country recorded sales of 16.26 million tonnes of petroleum products. Sales of petroleum products were recorded at 1.11 million tonnes in March, which is 9% lower than in February.

Moreover, LNG imports in the country recorded a decline of 16% on annual basis in the first 8 months of the current financial year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics and Industry Statistics, the import of LNG was recorded at 5,578,000 tonnes in the period from July to February 2023.
