In India, the Central Board of Secondary Education and the state boards of education in Uttar Pradesh removed lessons from the Mughal Empire from the history curriculum.
India’s National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), while revising the history syllabus, has removed lessons on Mughal emperors and Mughal courts from class 12 textbooks.
The new syllabus released by NCERT will be implemented soon in government schools of the state of Uttar Pradesh.
UP Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar confirmed that the new syllabus in state schools will come into effect from the 2023-2024 session.
