Karachi: 4 robbers were killed during police encounters in Korangi and North Nazimabad, while 4 accused were arrested in injured condition in other areas.
SSP Korangi Sajid Saduzai says that armed suspects robbed the house of a family living in Dubai in the Bengali neighborhood of Korangi police station. The accused were busy trying to escape after the incident when the police reached the spot.
According to the SSP, there was an exchange of fire between the robbers and the police on the first floor of the house, in which three robbers were killed, efforts are being made to identify the dead robbers, the criminal records of the accused will also be checked, and legal action will be taken against the accused. Additional IG Karachi Javed Alam Odhu has announced certificates of appreciation and a reward of fifty thousand rupees for the team that fought against robbers in the limits of Korangi police station.
Police encounter in North Nazimabad as well
Near North Nazimabad Block N Dental College, 2 motorcycle-riding suspects were busy robbing the passers-by when the police reached the spot, the suspects opened fire on seeing the police. During the encounter, a 16-year-old passer-by girl was also injured, the deceased and the injured accused were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
According to SSP Central Maruf Usman, after the incident, residents of the area gathered and kicked and punched the dead and injured accused. The police recovered 2 TT pistols and a motorcycle from the scene.
According to the police, the condition of the injured girl Basma is out of danger, the dead accused has been identified as Nawabuddin, while the injured dacoit has been identified as Ehsanullah, the criminal records of both the accused have also been found.
