Pasadena, California: Several years ago, NASA built a ride to carry a rocket to its launch pad platform, which has now been improved for the Artemis mission, and has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the heaviest ride on its bill. Honored too.

NASA’s Crawler Transporter Two (CT2) was built 60 years ago but has now been replaced by the Artemis SLS megarocket. A rocket is placed on it and guided to its correct location. It has a total weight of 3 million kg and is also the world’s heaviest ride.

On Wednesday, NASA’s transporter, which carried Saturn rockets decades ago, was given a certificate of international honor. Experts from Kennedy Space Center and officials of Guinness World Records were also present on this occasion. According to NASA’s Program Manager for Exploration Ground Systems, the system is a masterpiece of engineering.

60 years ago it paved the way to the moon and now it will become a means of access to the moon again. This transporter moves at a speed of one and a half kilometers per hour because it carries a very heavy rocket on its back.

The crawler transporter first carried the Artemis SLS rocket to destination in November 2022 and is expected to play a key role in NASA’s Artemis lunar mission as well.
