Reference against three Supreme Court judges is not out of the question, Interior Minister

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that the consideration of filing a reference against three judges of the Supreme Court is ongoing and it is not out of the question.

Talking to the host on Express News program Center Stage with Rehman Azhar, the interior minister said that all the parties in the PDM have decided to boycott the three-member bench.

He said that all the alliance parties were present in the summit meeting, in which after a thorough discussion on all the issues, it was decided that the bench which was earlier 9 then 7 and then five then four and now three. The judgment initiated by the Bench is unconstitutional and illegal.

Rana Sanaullah said that all the parties in the PDM have decided that they will not be part of the three-member bench proceedings and will boycott it.

The federal minister said that ‘People’s Party agrees to hold elections in October, the leaders who are objecting to the postponement of the elections are actually not in touch with their party leadership’.

He said that references against the judges who have reservations are not out of the question.

On the other hand, while giving an interview to the British news agency Independent Urdu, Rana Sanaullah said that the discussion on the issue of reference is going on, but no decision has been taken yet, but this decision can be taken because the three honorable judges have ruled against the Muslim League-N. There is a record of the decision.

Rana Sanaullah said that these three judges also gave a decision which not only Muslim League-N says is wrong, but everyone who has knowledge of law says that the decision of 63A is actually a distortion of the constitution.
