Russia got the presidency of the United Nations Security Council for one month.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Koliba responded by saying that Russia’s presidency of the Security Council is a slap in the face of the international community.
He said that the Security Council members should thwart any Russian attempt to misuse the presidency.
He said that Russia’s presence in the Security Council is illegal.
It should be noted that the presidency of the 15-member UN Security Council is held by a member country every month.
Russia last held the presidency of the Security Council in February 2022.
