Lahore: It has been two years since Shaukat Ali, the renowned folk singer and ghazal who gave life to many famous folk songs, was separated from his fans.
Shaukat Ali, a big name in the world of music, was born in 1944 in Lahore in the Bhatti Gate, and during his musical journey spanning more than five decades, he gained worldwide fame by singing songs for many Pakistani films.
Shaukat Ali first rose to fame in the 1960s when he lent his voice to the then popular film ‘Tees Maar Khan’.
Shaukat Ali also sang Milli songs during the war between Pakistan and India in 1965 and 1971, listening to his song “Jag Atha Hai Sara Watan” still evokes excitement even today.
Shaukat Ali successfully tried his voice in almost all genres of music, his song Chhle was very popular, he also sang songs and ghazals for many films in Urdu, but he is more famous for Punjabi Sufi Kalam. were taken
