New Delhi: The campaign to erase Muslim history gained momentum in the Modi government. The name of the historical Mughal Garden of the President’s House has been changed.

According to Indian media, the Mughal Garden of the President’s House in the Indian capital, New Delhi, has been renamed to ‘Amrit Uddiyan’.

Congress and other opposition parties have severely criticized the move of the Modi government. Congress leader Rashid Alvi asked why the government is changing the name of Mughal Garden. Was it made by BJP? Will you also change the name of Red Fort and Taj Mahal? Where the Prime Minister lives was also built by the British, will it also be demolished?

The historic Mughal Gardens spread over 15 acres were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1917. Mughal Garden is fragrant with the fragrance of all the famous flowers of the world. There are tulips from Holland, orchids from Brazil, cherry blossoms from Japan and other seasonal flowers, along with lotus flowers imported from China. The Mughal Garden also has Mughal-style canals and terraces.

The Mughal Garden is opened to the public once a year.
