Image of variable stars 1450 light-years away from Earth

Washington: NASA and the European Space Agency’s Hubble Space Telescope have captured an image of two variable stars in the Orion Nebula, a star-forming region 1,450 light-years from Earth.

Variable stars are stars whose brightness changes over time.

The star V372 Oranis is in the center of the released image, while a small variable star is visible in the upper left.

V372 Orionis is a special type of variable star known as an Orion variable. These young stars are in a turbulent state, which astronomers observed with the help of the irregular light of these stars.

Orion variable stars are usually associated with the Orion Nebula, a cloud of gas and dust.

This image was created using two Hubble instruments. Data for detailed imaging are acquired at infrared and visible wavelengths from the Advanced Camera for Survey and Widefield Camera 3.
