A boat caught fire in the Philippines, killing 31 people while 230 were rescued.
The boat ‘Lady Mary Joy 3’ was en route from Zamboanga to Jeddah Jolo when it caught fire on Wednesday night.
After the fire, the passengers jumped from the boat to save their lives.
Rescue volunteers, coast guard personnel and fishermen rescued 195 passengers and 35 crew members.
A Coast Guard boat brought the fire under control after 8 hours of struggle.
Officials said that 14 people were injured in the accident while 7 are missing. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
