Tosha Khana Criminal Case;  Imran Khan's request for exception to attendance approved

Islamabad: In the Tosha Khana criminal case, the court accepted Imran Khan’s request for exemption from attendance.

Tosha Khana case against Chairman PTI Imran Khan was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal in District and Sessions Court Islamabad, in which PTI lawyers filed an exception request from Imran Khan’s appearance today.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhary, giving arguments in the court, said that even today there is a strike at the Islamabad bar, the strike has been going on for 3 days. Lawyer Amjad Parvez said that Imran Khan is not included in the lawyers’ strike. If the lawyers of the accused were on strike, Imran Khan should have been present in the court room.

Lawyer Amjad Pervaiz further said that the presence of the accused in the courtroom is required at the trial stage. Imran Khan should come if his lawyers want to go on strike.

Lawyer Khawaja Haris told the court that Imran Khan’s life is in danger. The government has withdrawn security from Imran Khan. The Chief Justice of Islamabad has called for a report on the withdrawal of Imran Khan’s security. Due to security concerns, Imran Khan is not present in the Sessions Court. Imran Khan can also appear in court through video link. The request for exemption from Imran Khan’s presence should be granted, others will continue the court proceedings.

During the hearing, the judge remarked that he should tell about the court hearing through joint consultation, on which lawyer Faisal Chaudhry said that the hearing of Tosha Khana should be held after Ramadan, is it too early? Lawyer Saad Hasan said that no charge has yet been filed in the Tosha Khana case. Lawyer Amjad Pervez said that if not held on Thursday, then hold the hearing on Saturday, it will be 10 days. Lawyer Khawaja Haris requested that the hearing of the Tosha Khana case be held after Eid.

Later, the court granted PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s request for exception from today’s appearance and adjourned the hearing of the Tosha Khana criminal proceedings case till April 29.
