A woman who robbed patients by pretending to be a fake doctor was arrested

The accused used to steal mobile phones and jewelery etc. by injecting anesthesia to the patients.

Karachi: Judicial Magistrate South sent the accused to jail on judicial remand in the case of robbing patients by pretending to be a fake doctor.

A case of robbing patients by pretending to be a fake doctor was heard in front of the court of the Judicial Magistrate South in Karachi City Court.

The police produced the arrested accused Ruqiya Kanwal in the court. The investigating officer said that the accused used to enter the civil hospital in the dress of a doctor and used to commit crimes. The accused used to anesthetize the patients and steal mobile phones and jewelry etc. The accused used to target patients in different wards of the hospital.

The court sent the accused to jail on judicial remand. The court ordered the investigating officer to submit the case challan by April 11. According to the police, the accused was arrested from the limits of Eidgah police station, Civil Hospital Karachi.

The incident of playing with the lives of patients by posing as a fake doctor has raised many questions on the security of the civil hospital administration. A case has been registered against the fake doctor on the complaint of the husband.

The accused used to steal mobile phones and jewelery etc. by injecting anesthesia to the women under treatment in the hospital. The accused has done a nursing course and is a native of Sukkur but a resident of Korangi.

The arrest of the accused was made with the help of CCTV footage after the patient’s valuables went missing.
