New York: The American company has announced a new development in cargo-carrying drones. This new drone is fully autonomous and can travel 600 miles (960 km) while carrying 100 pounds of weight.
It is made by the famous company Mightyfly and the drone is named Santo. It can carry a weight of 450 kg at a time for a distance of 960 km. A fully autonomous drone flies, lands and launches cargo on its own software. Most importantly, it requires very little space for take-off.
The secret to its success is the carbon fiber frame with a total weight of 161 kg. It has 8 wings installed to lift the drone. While it also uses its own propulsion pods for low runways. Due to this, it can travel at a maximum speed of 240 km per hour. The chest is 5 meters in length and 4 meters in width, while a conveyor belt is installed inside it on which items can be placed and lifted. This belt works like an airport baggage belt.
According to the company, the United Postal Service can carry up to 96 small packages and is ideal for the fastest delivery of goods while traveling at twice the speed of a ground vehicle. The US FAA authority has also given permission for its use.
