Lahore: Former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema was summoned by Anti-Corruption Punjab today on March 28 in a forgery case.
According to sources, Anti-Corruption Punjab had summoned the former governor and his wife on March 25, but they did not appear.
Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Umar Sarfraz Cheema illegally inherited his sister Fatima Sarfraz Cheema’s share through a fake family registration certificate. Fatima Sarfraz Cheema’s divorce from Dr. Zaheer Safdar was effective in 2013. After Dr. Zaheer Safdar’s death last year, his estranged wife Fatima Sarfraz Cheema was fraudulently given a share of the inheritance.
Umar Sarfraz Cheema misused his powers as governor by registering his sister in the family registration certificate and registered the death of his former brother-in-law’s inheritance seven days after he took oath as governor.
