The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has asked e-commerce payment processing banks and companies to enable online purchases from Paypak.
According to the central bank, the minimum rate of merchant discount rate is being removed from 1.5% to promote online payments.
Merchants can arrange merchant discount rates from banks that provide online payment facilities.
The rate of interchange fee has been reduced on online payment by debit and credit card.
By lowering the merchant discount rate, more merchants are expected to offer online payment facilities.
