60-year-old Zahra Bibi died in Muzaffargarh due to a stampede while getting free flour while 66-year-old Elahi Bakhsh died of heart attack while standing in line to get flour in Bhagar.
According to details, a 60-year-old woman was killed in a stampede at the flour point in Tehsil Jatoi of Muzaffargarh. Later, the Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi removed the DC and DPO Muzaffargarh after taking notice of the woman’s death.
The second incident took place in Bhakkar, where 66-year-old Elahi Bakhsh was present at the Union Council to procure flour. According to the details, Elahi Baksh reached the Union Council at 6 am to procure flour.
In this regard, it was further told that after a long queue, when Elhi Bakhsh got the flour, he suffered a heart attack and died.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the flour stall in Sargodha. On this occasion, Shahbaz Sharif strictly instructed the concerned authorities that any deserving person who comes to the free flour center should not return without flour.
He said that such eligible persons who are not registered with Benazir Income Support Program and therefore are not able to get free flour should be ensured immediate registration.
The Prime Minister directed that NADRA and Benazir Income Support Program registration counters should be set up immediately at the flour distribution centers.
He said that there should not be any shortage in the quality of free flour, he is visiting the cities himself to improve the process of providing free flour.
It should be noted that three people have lost their lives due to a stampede during the distribution of mufti flour during the last few months. Two days ago, two people died in Charsadda and Kohat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier, a citizen who came to Mirpurkhas city of Sindh to get cheap flour was killed due to a stampede in the crowd.
