Karachi: Federal Chief Statistician Naeem Zafar has said that 60 percent of Pakistan’s census has been done, 14 crore people across the country and 85 lakh people have been counted in Karachi so far.
During a press conference in his office, Chief Statistics Commissioner Naeem Zafar said that the country’s first digital population and household census should continue in a transparent manner, which will be completed by April 4. Person and structure are counting.
He said that there is a wealth of information and it is the government’s job to take advantage of it, 14 crore people and about 4 crore houses have been counted, 97 lakh houses have been geo-tagged in Sindh, hotels, mosques, madrassas, jails, schools. Every place is being counted, including colleges, shops.
He said that there was some delay in some parts of Karachi but so far 85 lakh people have been counted. It is not necessary that the population of Karachi is two and a half to three crore but there will be no ambiguity after the digital census.
He said that the series of house and census will continue till April 4, nothing can be said about the increase in it, it is hoped that the work will be completed on the scheduled time.
To a question, Naeem Zafar said that the doubts and suspicions about political parties being removed have nothing to do with reality, neither the collected data can go to any unrelated person nor Someone can steal data from the tablet.
He said that according to the data, Sindh has 68 lakh 71 thousand 634 houses, 52 jails, 1088 colleges, 64 thousand wholesale shops, 5 thousand 314 semi-government offices, 1284 police stations, 72 old age homes, 20 1,600 hospitals, 621 universities, 2,33,896 shops, 9,580 government offices, 46,839 tenements, 724 hostels, 4,71 madrassas, 1,16,748 mosques, 497 post offices, 2,17,626 apartments, 38 A thousand 513 hotels, 61 thousand 56 schools, 50 thousand 41 factories, 4294 banks and 1 lakh 94 thousand 512 other constructions have been counted.
