Peshawar: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali gave the date of general elections in the province after consultation.
The date of the election has been given in the letter written by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Chief Election Commissioner. In the letter, Governor KP suggested October 8 as the date of elections in the province.
It should be noted that an important meeting of the Governor and Election Commission officials has also been held regarding the conduct of elections. It should be remembered that after the decision of the Supreme Court, the Election Commission had decided to hold elections in Punjab and Pakhtunkhwa within the constitutional period.

The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Senator Waleed Iqbal has said that the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa giving October 8 as the date for the general elections in the province is a deviation from the constitution.
Waleed Iqbal while speaking in the center stage of the Express News program said that according to the constitution it is necessary to hold elections within 90 days of the dissolution of the assembly, the country is currently in a state of civilian martial law.

Meanwhile, Qamar Zaman Kaira, advisor to the Prime Minister and leader of PP, said that the constitution says to hold the election on Nore Roz, but we should see what the ground realities are. He said that the process of census is going on in the country, in such a case the holding of election may be controversial.
