According to bomb disposal squad officials, there was no cylinder or gas pressure machine in the house
Karachi: The blast in Federal B Area Block 14 collapsed the ground and half of the first floor of the house while the second floor was spared.
As a result of the explosion, the owner of the house was injured and a fire broke out on the ground floor. The intensity of the explosion was so high that the windows of the neighboring houses were broken and the local residents came out of their houses in fear. According to bomb disposal squad officials, there was no gas cylinder in the house, nor was there any gas pressure machine, but the explosion occurred due to leakage in the needle gas pipes in the dirty street.
On receiving the information, the teams of Police, Rangers, Chippa and Edhi reached the spot. The intensity of the explosion was so high that the ground and half of the first floor of the house collapsed, but the two families living on the upper floors were fortunately safe. Rescue officials took the owner of the house living on the ground floor out of the rubble and shifted him to the hospital.
The injured house owner was identified as 50-year-old Arshad. According to local residents, the landlord is an American national and lives alone in the house. Arshad’s wife and children are living in America, while he had a second marriage in Pakistan, but divorced the woman. The fire that broke out after the explosion was extinguished by the local residents with their help.
The resident of the first floor said that he lives with his wife and 2 daughters. Fortunately, the room in which everyone was at the time of the explosion was safe, while half of the floor collapsed.
