US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken has said that the US is working to bring dozens of Americans back from Afghanistan.
While giving a statement to the US Congress, Foreign Minister Anthony Blanken added that 44 Americans in Afghanistan are working to help. These Americans want to leave Afghanistan and are being held by Taliban authorities.
He said that we are working to secure the freedom of these Americans in Afghanistan. The families of these Americans have requested that their identities and cases not be discussed publicly.
The US Secretary of State further said that 975 US citizens have been helped to leave Afghanistan since the Taliban took over.
Anthony Blanken said there are 175 self-proclaimed Americans in Afghanistan who have gone to Afghanistan since 2021.
According to the news agency, the American forces withdrew their troops from Afghanistan in 2021 after two decades.
