The European Union Donors Conference announced the aid of 7 billion euros for Turkey and Syria

The President of the European Commission is addressing the conference.

In the Donors’ Conference organized by the European Union for Turkey and Syria, 7 billion Euros has been pledged.

The European Commission has announced one billion euros in aid for the recovery and reconstruction of Turkey after the earthquake.

European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also announced 108 million euros for Syria.

These announcements were made at the donors’ conference in Brussels, where representatives of European countries gathered to help Turkey and Syria affected by the earthquake.

The International Rescue Committee said that the United Nations has requested one billion dollars and 397 million dollars respectively for Turkey and Syria, which should be fulfilled.

Representatives of international financial institutions including NGOs, G20 and UN member states also participated in this one-day donors’ conference.

By the end of the conference, an amount of 7 billion Euros was pledged for both countries.

The President of the European Commission said that 95 million Euros are for Syria.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, while addressing the conference through video link, said that 298,000 buildings in 11 provinces were affected by the earthquake.

He said that the series of aftershocks of the earthquake is continuing, these aftershocks are also as intense as the earthquake.

The Turkish president said that now they are also dealing with the disaster caused by the floods and the weather conditions.

He said that no matter how strong a country is economically, it cannot deal with this kind of disaster alone, 104 billion Euros are needed for reconstruction.
