Peshawar: 10 students drowned after the madrassa boat overturned in Tanda Dam in Kohat.
According to Rescue 1122, all the students, estimated to be 25 to 30, drowned when the boat overturned.
Officials said that 18 students have been evacuated so far, out of which 10 students died while 8 are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan has expressed his regret over the incident and expressed good wishes for the safe evacuation of the drowned people.
The Chief Minister has directed the district administration and rescue agencies to start rescue operations on an emergency basis and said that all available resources should be utilized for the safe recovery of the drowning persons.
Mohammad Azam Khan said that the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Kohat should supervise the rescue operations themselves.
