The Chinese Foreign Ministry has reacted to the International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant for the arrest of Russian President Putin, saying that the ICC should take a fair stance and stay away from politics and double standards.
A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing said that China will continue to play a fair role in the Ukraine crisis.
Last week, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin on charges of war crimes in Ukraine.
The Hague-based court has issued an arrest warrant for Putin because of the illegal transfer and deportation of children from the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia.
Britain welcomed the Russian president’s arrest warrant, saying it appreciated the ICC’s move to hold Putin responsible for alleged war crimes in Ukraine.
