Karachi: In Orangi Town, a young girl surrounded by poverty and disease committed suicide by hanging a rope around her neck.
A dead body of a young girl was found with a noose around her neck from a house located in a slum behind Gulshan Behar Al Janat Lawn, Orangi Town Sector 16, Pakistan Bazar police station area, which was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
The girl has been identified as 24-year-old Sophia son of Shahabuddin. SH Osheil Khaskheli said that the deceased girl has 4 sisters and 2 brothers, the deceased’s mother is very old and suffering from a deadly disease like cancer and there is extreme poverty in the house.
The deceased was suffering from severe mental stress for a few months and due to poverty, illness and domestic problems, the deceased committed suicide by hanging a noose around her neck.
He said that the police handed over the dead body to the heirs after taking legal action.
