All banks will remain closed for public transactions on four days this week

Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan has issued a notification to keep all public and private banks closed on Friday, March 24 due to Zakat deduction.

According to the statement, Bank Daulat Pakistan will be closed for transactions to the public on Friday, March 24, 2023, on the occasion of a ‘bank holiday’ for the deduction of Zakat, as it is likely that the first of Ramadan 1444 Hijri will fall on Thursday, March 23, 2023, while This day is an official holiday.

The State Bank has announced that all banks, development financial institutions, microfinance banks across the country will be closed for transactions with the public on the mentioned date, however, the employees of all institutions and banks will be present in the office and the day will be considered as a working day. But will count.

It should be noted that this week from March 23, 2023 to March 26, 2023, banks will be closed for four days because March 33 will be a public holiday, Friday will be the 1st of Ramadan, while banks and development financial institutions will have weekly holidays on Saturday and Sunday.

From Monday, March 27, banks will open during Ramadan, which has been announced by Bank Daulat Pakistan. According to the announcement, public transactions in all banks will start from 7:30 am.

Working hours of government offices during Ramadan

According to the notification issued by the Establishment Division, government offices will be open from Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, while on Fridays from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Zakat syllabus set for 2023

According to sources, the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection has released the Zakat syllabus for the year 2023, the notification of which has also been issued. According to the notification, zakat will be deducted from customers who have at least one lakh three thousand rupees in their savings account.
