According to the ISPR press release, between Monday and Tuesday night, terrorists opened fire at a police check post in Khoti area of Dera Ismail Khan. And blocked all possible escape routes.
Meanwhile, the terrorists who tried to escape were taken home in Sigo area of Dera Ismail Khan.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan strongly condemned the firing of terrorists at the police post in Dera Ismail Khan and paid tribute to the security forces for their timely response and killing the three terrorists.
The Interior Minister expressed deep sorrow and regret over the martyrdom of 3 soldiers of Pakistan Army in the exchange of fire and offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for patience for them.
Rana Sanaullah said that the security forces are very bravely and courageously engaged in defeating the terrorists, Inshallah, with the same spirit, they will die soon after completely eradicating the scourge of terrorism from the country.
