The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a loan of 2.9 billion dollars for Sri Lanka, which is suffering from the worst economic crisis in many months.
According to the news agency, with the approval of the loan, the IMF has urged the Sri Lankan government to implement tax reforms, continue social protection for the poor and curb the corruption that has led to the country’s economic crisis.
It should be noted that Sri Lanka is facing a serious economic crisis since April last year due to the decrease in foreign reserves.
