Some parts of the human body were recovered by the police near the under-construction building in Delhi.
According to Indian media reports, the Delhi Police has contacted the Noida Police after the recovery of some human body parts, who had recovered the same type of severed human body parts from Sector 8 area a few days ago.
Police said they found a human skull, wrist bones and other small bones in southeast Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan area on Saturday, while Noida police recovered severed arms and legs earlier last week.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Rajesh Dev said that at 11.56 am, the police received a tip-off about human body parts adjacent to the flyover in the area of the Rapid Metro construction site near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT, Ring Road. It was reported that, after reaching the spot, it was found that parts of the human body were in various stages of decomposition and a bunch of hair was also found.
They say that the crime scene has been inspected and the remains have been transferred to the trauma center for further investigation, while the identity of the recovered human body has not yet been identified.
Another Delhi Police officer said that the recovered bones had cut marks and it appeared that the man had been hit on the head.
He said that preliminary investigation revealed that the body was dumped two to three days ago while the murder was committed at least two weeks ago.
However, the police said that the sequence of the two incidents could not be ascertained, nor any eyewitnesses or any CCTV footage of the incident has come forward.
The police further said that the bones recovered from Delhi are being compared with the organs found in Noida and efforts are being made to ascertain whether they belong to the same person or separate bodies for which forensic examination of the organs is being conducted. An autopsy will also be done.
The police said that a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
