Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court ordered 102 accused of Tehreek-e-Insaf to be sent to jail on 14-day judicial remand in the Zaman Park riot case.
The court ordered the accused to be produced again on April 3 for torturing the police, burning police vehicles and interfering with the police during the riots.
During the hearing, the prosecution requested that arms, petrol bombs and batons be recovered from the accused so that the court orders the accused to be sent to jail on judicial remand.
The lawyer of the accused said that the accused have nothing to do with this case, see the provisions included in the case and it is not proved while there is no medical record of any of the accused. My accused is a heart patient and went for check-up in cardiology, my accused was illegally arrested.
The lawyer of the accused pleaded that the court should order the discharge of my accused from the case and the accused of the case listed in the FIR should be discharged.
A case has been registered against the accused under various provisions in the Racecourse police station. Tight security arrangements and additional personnel were deployed outside the Anti-Terrorism Court.
