China reiterates its support for Pakistan's security and sovereignty

Islamabad: The Foreign Office said that Pakistan and China have reviewed all aspects of bilateral relations and expressed determination to enhance relations in various fields while China reiterated its full support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and economic security. What did

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office said regarding the third round of Pakistan-China Bilateral Political Consultation (BPC) held in Beijing that the two sides discussed political and security cooperation, bilateral trade, economic and financial cooperation, cultural exchange, tourism and people-to-people. Agreed to expand and strengthen the relationship.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed Khan while the Chinese delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weidong. On the completion of a decade of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the two sides described the ever deepening friendship between Pakistan and China.

According to the spokesperson of the Foreign Office, the two sides also agreed to be engaged in the expansion of CPEC, including the participation of other parties, to enhance regional connectivity and cooperation.

They agreed that “Pakistan and China will also promote high-level engagement and dialogue mechanisms and further strengthen channels of communication.”

The Foreign Secretary thanked China for its continuous and generous support for Pakistan’s economic stability and humanitarian assistance during the devastating floods in 2022.

The Chinese Vice Foreign Minister reiterated China’s support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and economic security.
