India's Cyber Attacks After Diplomatic Failure to Stop Khalistan Referendum in Australia

After the diplomatic failure to stop the Khalistan referendum, India has resorted to cyber attacks. Indian hackers have attacked to stop the Khalistan referendum in the city of Brisbane, Australia.

Despite all Indian efforts to stop the referendum, 11,000 Sikhs voted. The voting process was disrupted three times due to attacks by alleged Indian hackers.

The first Indian hacker attack was carried out just 30 minutes after the start of voting. The system shut down due to attack by Indian hackers was restored in 30 minutes. After the second and third cyber attacks, voting was resumed only 20 minutes later.

The enthusiasm of the people participating in the referendum for independence from India was visible. Traffic was jammed on streets around the voting center area in Brisbane.

Sikhs for Justice, the organizer of the referendum, claimed that it suspected the hacker attacks had the support of the Indian government.

According to Sikhs for Justice, the Indian government has conducted such cyber-attacks on referendum occasions in Europe as well.

Sikhs for Justice said that there is also evidence of the Indian government’s involvement in hacker attacks.

On the eve of the referendum, large banners supporting Khalistan and Sikh rights were displayed at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

A banner read ‘Khalistan Referendum, Punjab, Shimla Capital’ and ‘Khalistan Referendum, Secession of Punjab from India’.

Under the auspices of Sikhs for Justice, the first phase of the referendum in Australia was held in Melbourne in January this year. More than 50,000 Sikhs exercised their right to vote in the referendum held in Melbourne.
