London: Experts say that parents should protect their children ToFrom the age of four months, peanut spread food should be started to prevent them from suffering from any type of allergy.
People complaining of peanut allergies have tripled in recent decades. While in severe cases, death can also occur.
Currently, one in every 50 children suffers from this problem, which is a lifelong concern regarding the ingredients in food. But researchers in the UK have discovered a way to relieve children of this problem.
According to researchers, the best time to start feeding peanut products to babies is between four and six months of age. Doing so can reduce children’s chances of developing allergies by up to 77 percent.
A team of researchers from King’s College London and the University of Southampton said that by the time a child is a year old, most peanut allergies are out of the picture.
In this study, researchers analyzed data from the Inquiring About Tolerance (EAT) and Learning Early About Paint Allergy (LEAP) studies.
The LIP study involved 640 children who were at high risk of developing a peanut allergy. The study analyzed whether they were fed peanut products at an early age.
More than 1,300 three-month-old babies from England and Wales were selected for the EIT project. In the study, they were monitored for several years to study the allergenic foods at an early age: milk, peanuts, sesame, fish, eggs, and wheat.
