Karachi: Security companies have announced to stop the services of providing guards on the orders of the Sindh government to stop the display of weapons in the name of security.

All Pakistan Security Agencies Association has sent a letter to all its member security companies in this regard. In which it is said that the Sindh Home Department has amended the notification and directed that the security guards cannot sit behind any vehicle or Dala or Vigo etc. with weapons. All security companies are therefore advised to shut down the escort service immediately to avoid any possible action by the police.

The letter further said that the companies should not only inform all their customers about this but also ask them to express their concern directly to the Chief Minister Sindh, Home Secretary.

The association has advised its member companies to discontinue the service of in-car bodyguards even if no weapons are displayed, as the police will misuse it and against the guards on the pretext of displaying weapons. The process will start.

The letter also states that the association is in the meantime trying to contact the top police authorities for clarification on the said amendment notification.
