Electricity is likely to become more expensive for K-electric consumers

Karachi: K Electric has filed a petition with Nepra to raise the price of electricity by Rs 1.66 paise per unit.

According to Express News, the request has been made in the context of February fuel price adjustment, Nepra will hear the request on March 30.

If the application of the electricity supply company to Karachi is approved, there will be an additional burden of more than 2 billion rupees on the consumers.

Earlier on March 10, Nepra had hiked the cost of electricity for Karachi by one rupee 71 paisa per unit and said that the increase approved for January will be charged in the March bill.

Nepra said that this increase in the price has been done in the context of January’s monthly fuel adjustment, which will be charged to Karachi’s electricity consumers in the March bill.
