Islamabad/Lahore: The federal cabinet has approved the support price of cotton at Rs 8500 per maund.
A federal cabinet meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. The participants also approved a bill to be tabled in Parliament for the protection of lawyers.
The Cabinet approved the Memorandum of Understanding of the Security and Exchange Commission with various countries and international institutions. Approved the winding up of SME Bank on the recommendation of the State Bank.
Cabinet directed to ensure security of deposits of all customers during Winding Dawn, they will be paid Rs 5.557 billion in the first phase.
The Cabinet approved the formation of an investigation committee headed by the Additional Deputy Commissioner for the extradition of Waseem Aslam to Saudi Arabia. He is wanted by the Saudi government in the case of murder.
The Cabinet approved the reconstitution of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhag Committee. Representation from all provinces has been ensured in the 13-member committee.
Further, the Prime Minister acknowledged the services of Qazi Abdul Rehman Amritsari who proposed the name of Islamabad and presented the allotment letter of the plot in Park Enclave to his family.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister prayed for the forgiveness of those who died in the Lower Kohistan fire. Later, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Lahore by a special plane on Friday. He was taken from Allama Iqbal Airport to his residence Model Town under tight security.
